BOBBY
Bobby is a cooperative musical project based on the talents of musicians from Partisan Records and Knitting Factory Records which is notable for achieving an avant garde alternative sound using polyrhythm. The name Bobby does not describe an actual person but rather a fictional character.
Born at Bennington College in Vermont, BOBBY was comprised of the collective talents of Tom Greenberg, Molly Sarle (Mountain Man), Maia Friedman (Dirty Projectors), Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso), Paolo Menuez, Julian Labat, Martin Zimmermann and Roby Moulton.
New music from band leader, Tom Greenberg:
TOM
to be loud, nostalgic, and hyper-specific all at once—has turned into something more than just a collaboration; it’s become this direct and weirdly exhilarating act of translation. He sees himself as a kind of musical intermediary, converting fashion’s textures and emotional palettes into sound, trying (often obsessively) to render the ineffable audible in service of MOTHER’s ever-evolving creative psyche.
